In February of 2020, we gave up our “private” sanctuary status and became a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit  rescue and sanctuary.   IRS EIN # 84-4937407  We are a all volunteer ran non-profit so you can rest assure all donations go directly to help care for our wonderful donkeys.

NO SUMMER TOURS AVAILABLE

We are closed for tours from June 1, 2022, thru August 31, 2022. There are multiple reasons why we have chosen to be closed for tours during the hot summer months. Our donkeys have donned their fly mask for the summer.  We miss seeing their beautiful faces but understand the need for protection against the flies.  Summer sores are making their presence known and we are working hard alleviating the donkey’s discomfort.  In the past few months, we received in two summer camp donkeys and two new donkeys for sanctuary care.  We are receiving in one more donkey next week for sanctuary care.  The break from tours allows us to learn more about these new donkeys, their ailments and to work on giving them the best life possible.

Besides the donkeys, we have BIG renovations going on at the rescue!   First, in June, our new office and store will arrive.  We will have fun finishing out the inside and moving our office from our homes to a “real” office building.  Our store will have our promotional gifts and apparel available for purchase, along with local artist and burro related gear for sale.  A large storage room, guest bathroom and office space complete the building. We are very, very excited!   Second, we are putting a new mobile home out on the property.  Suzanne will be moving from her 22-foot travel trailer to her new home sometime in July.  Property improvements are happening too.  We will be using the summer to maintain and improve the donkey’s pens and training area along with fence repair and cleanup on our 30 acres.

We will look forward to having everyone come out for a tour starting in September 2022!  Thank you all for your understanding and patience.  Be sure to follow us on our website blog, and Facebook for more updates.

Have a safe and happy summer!
